Meeting for Young Consecrated Men and Women in Zagreb

Wake up the world! Croatian Conference of Religious Superiors and Superiors organized on 28 November 2015, in Zagreb a meeting of young religious men and women, religious and candidates in the Year consecrated life. The impetus for the organization of a national meeting of young women and men religious was the September meeting of young consecrated persons in Rome, and the intention was to discover and revive the gift of God's call and the beauty of religious vocations.

The first part of the meeting was held in the hall of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Institute, a part of the afternoon in Frankopanska Street in the convent of the Sisters of Mercy and in the church of St Vincent de Paul.

Firstly the assembly was addressed by Fr. Jure Sarcevic, President of HKVRPP and provincial of the Croatian Capuchin Province of St.. B. Leopold Mandic. Father Jure told the young men and women religious to be brave, strong, faithful and bear fruit.

Communion in joy

Later on Fr. Ljudevit Maračić, a Conventual Franciscan, gave a lecture on the theme "Communion in the joy - reflection in the company of Pope Francis." He talked about the importance of unity and brotherhood in religious life. He stressed that the religious communities often have a lot of individualism and lack of sense of belonging to society.

At 12 o'clock in the church of St Vincent de Paul in Frankopanska Street a solemn Mass was celebrated, presided by Auxiliary Bishop of Zagreb Ivan Šaško, and singing animated the assembly of religious men and women.

After an afternoon of recreation programs, there was a plenary report of labor groups from the morning part of the meeting. This first meeting of young religious men and women in Croatia was completed in adoration and evening prayer in the church of St. Vincent de Paul.
